The SoCal Sound Celebrates The GRAMMYS

Written By Hillary Gordon (The SoCal Sound's Promotions and Marketing Director)

Like so many things, The Grammy Awards were born of an idea that developed right here in SoCal. When considering who would be nominated for The Hollywood Walk of Fame, it came to the founder’s attention that not nearly enough recording artists would be eligible to be honored on Hollywood Blvd, and so was born the Grammy Awards.

Nearly 70 years ago the first Grammy Awards were held simultaneously at The Beverly Hilton Hotel and The Park City Hotel in New York City. During those1959 ceremonies, 28 Grammys were awarded. The event has grown exponentially, both in the number of statues awarded, and in sheer popularity since then.

Whatever your opinion on the Grammy Awards is, one thing is for sure: it is a much-celebrated, anticipated, glitzy, and glammy night celebrating music. There is so much history and many unforgettable performances celebrating a wide range of genres and talents.

We at The SoCal Sound are so excited to have some of our favorite artists nominated this year. As a matter of fact, we’ve had many of the artists nominated for the 2024 Grammys right here in our SoCal Sound studios, talking to our DJs.
