A deep, bluesy bass lick, soothing piano chords and a goosebump-inducing, twangy guitar riff welcome listeners to "Pompadour," the second single to come from the Los Angeles based duo, McNally Waters.

The country-blues-rock duo McNally Waters - the project of esteemed songwriter, Larry John McNally and accomplished musician and son of Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, Harry Waters -  shares the single's new music video, created and animated by Harry's Wife - a follow up to their "Big Bang" music video released a few months back and their three-song EP titled, Big Bang released in September.

The solemn, yet catchy single sings a tribute to the late, iconic, soul-singer, Amy Winehouse. Larry John McNally says that to him, Winehouse was a killer singer, songwriter, guitarist, and performer. She stood on stage with a vulnerability that made you want to stand beside her and hold her.

"A lot of great singers have recorded my songs: Mavis Staples, Chaka Khan, Aaron Neville and more," says Larry John McNally, "but in recent years she was the one I had most dreamed of working with. When we first started writing this song in tribute to her, I thought about what an odd word ‘Pompadour’ is. Amy so owned, and reinvented that iconic 60s girl-group look that the dictionary should put a photo of her in the place of the meaning of the word.”

McNally Waters were planning for a 2020 release date for their second full-length album when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and shut everything down. The duo were left to halt their plans and delay the release.

The duo is currently working on putting the finishing touches on their upcoming up album and is slated for a Fall 2021 release.
