Top Ten Songs of the Week

1. Big Thief is the musical creation of singer-songwriters and guitarists Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek, bassist Max Oleartchik, and drummer James Krivchenia. The band dropped their double album, 'Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You', this month! The quartet is currently on tour and stopping in Los Angeles for two nights in May, the 10th and the 11th at The Wiltern. "Simulation Swarm" was debuted by the full band on tour in 2021. 

 

2. Classic and iconic British outfit Tears For Fears released their first album in 17 years Friday, February 25th! 'The Tipping Point' title track debuted as a single last October. The band is going on a worldwide tour, marking their first US appearance since 2017. The artists that comprise Tears For Fears, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, are glad to collaborate again and wrote ten songs for this latest album. 3. "Living My Best Life" is track three off Ben Rector's new EP, 'The Joy of Music.' A full album is expected to be released soon, with Rector going on tour with the album in May. Rector is an American singer-songwriter from Tennessee. 'The Joy of Music' will be his ninth album.

 

4. World-renowned artist Adele released the song "Oh My God" as a single from her fourth studio album 30 last year. The song peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October. "Oh My God" was given a beautiful music video this January. Late last year, Adele put on a secret intimate performance called "Adele One Night Only" that you can now watch on Paramount+.

 

5. British singer-songwriter Arlo Parks has followed up her 2021 debut studio album 'Collapsed in Sunbeams' with her new single, "Softly." Arlo started her music career with her single "Cola" in 2018, followed by the EP 'Super Sad Generation' in 2019. The incredible artist won the Breakthrough Artists Award at last year's Brit Awards. Parks is a fan favorite heading on tour with Clairo, and on June 22nd, Arlo will also be joining Harry Styles for a show in Dublin.

 

6. Seratones is a spectacular soul-rock group from Louisiana & also recorded an 88FIVE Live session at No Vacancy in 2019. "Good Day" was released as a single this year alongside the song "Dark Matter." 'Love & Algorhythms' is the forthcoming album by Seratones, which is set to be released on April 22nd of this year. 'Love & Algorhythms' will be their third studio album to date, alongside their first two albums, 'POWER' and 'Get Gone.'

 

7."(Don't) Hold Me Down" is on PM Warson's debut record 'True Story.' PM Warson is a London musician whose second LP is due for release in May this year. Even though he just emerged as an artist in 2021 during the pandemic, he has managed to play a number of shows in Europe so far.

 

8. They may have been around for a little while now, but that doesn't mean they stopped putting out show-stopping songs. "Wake Me Up" is the latest single by the band Foals. In 2020, they re-emerged despite the pandemic with a collection of remixes called 'Collected Reworks.'

 

9. Lucy Dacus is on a roll! Last year she released her third solo studio album 'VHS,' and this year debuted a new single, "Kissing Lessons." Dacus is not a newcomer to the independent rock music scene; She's already well-known for her songs "I Don't Wanna Be Funny Anymore" and "Night Shift," along with a joint collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker entitled boygenius. Lucy is currently playing shows in the US and will soon embark on a two-month European tour.

 

10. Cult-favorite musician Mitski has just released her newest album 'Laurel Hell.' While Mitski was launched into the mainstream over the past couple of years, her latest songs show no end to her grassroots talent. Following "Working for the Knife," "The Only Heartbreaker" was the second single released supporting her new album. Mitski is currently on an American tour, and while the local dates are sold out, you can add yourself to the waitlist.
