88FIVE Live At Amoeba Music Hollywood with Courtney Barnett

88FIVE Live at Amoeba Music Hollywood with Courtney Barnett is brought to you by the Independent 88.5 FM, Amoeba Music Hollywood, CSUN & Saddleback College.

Midday host Mookie catches up with Australian singer, songwriter, and musician Courtney Barnett!

Barnett talks about her fondness for living in the desert, including her love of Pappy & Harriet’s, the iconic desert venue. Mookie asks her about her previous Amoeba Music “What’s In My Bag?” segment she did with collaborator Kurt Vile. Plus, Barnett describes her music discovery journey from when she was a kid and touches on how she gravitated toward playing music during her formative years.

Barnett’s newest album, Things Take Time, Take Time, is officially out Friday, November 12th. Barnett details her unique songwriting process for the album and her entire catalog.

This 88FIVE Live session includes stripped-down, acoustic performances of: “Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To,” “Before You Gotta Go,” “Rae Street,” and a cover of “I’ll Be Your Mirror” by The Velvet Underground.
