A very happy birthday to Joni Mitchell who is celebrating her 75th birthday today! Born in Alberta, Canada, Mitchell made her way down to the US, eventually settling here in Los Angeles as a part of the Laurel Canyon music community in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Her success goes beyond the three platinum albums she released and nine GRAMMY awards - she is one of the most influential songwriters of our time. With her non-standard guitar tuning and unique vocals, she created a sound few have been able to match.
