Cat Power, née Chan Marshall, last released an album six years ago but is getting ready to share Wanderer on October 5th. Quite a bit has happened in that time, including a near death experience while on tour supporting her last album Sun.

She has been working on the new album over the last few years in Miami and Los Angeles and said, “The course my life has taken in this journey - going from town to town, with my guitar, telling my tale; with reverence to the people who did this generations before me. Folk singers, blues singers, and everything in between. They were all wanderers, and I am lucky to be among them.” She invited friends to join her, including a track sharing vocals with Lana Del Rey. She also announced a run of tour dates with one at The Theatre At Ace Hotel November 21st and another two nights later on November 23rd at The Observatory in Santa Ana.

She shared just a taste of some of the music to come with a 1 minute clip of the album's title track "Wanderer".
